Press release
Galerie Allen is pleased to present Mercury Release, a solo exhibition by Daniel Turner.
For the past decade, Turner has sourced material from institutional, industrial, and regulatory sites with historical, social, or manufacturing significance.
For his third exhibition with Galerie Allen, the artist confronts the exhibition space itself as the medium. Fluorescent bulbs are dropped from ceiling ballasts, altering critical components of perception—transforming mercury and light into a constellation of fractured debris.
Shattered glass, insulator pins, and filaments are broadcast across the expanse of the gallery floor. Here, architecture and its functional utilities serve as a catalyst between cause and effect, from release to entropy.
