Maxime Rossi
The work of Maxime Rossi eschews borders of genre, taste and art-world taboo to create surreal and in-depth multi-layered scenes. From a dizzying array of sources Rossi collapses specific peri- ods of art history and ethnographic studies into new narratives that expose relationships between the unrelated and exposing unearthed truths about subjects we thought we knew well.
A kaleidoscopic mix of sculpture, installation, painting, print-making, performance, scenography and film/video, Maxime Rossi?s complete disregard for categories breaths new life into what has become an extremely categorised arts system.
