Natsuko Uchino creates installations that function as expanded spaces combining objects, images, performance, conviviality
and the living. Her work raises the question of time, touch and use, ageing and patina, as well as those on the permanence of
gestures and the possible reversability of materials.

Natsuko Uchino’s cross-disciplinary practice is inscribed in the polysemic resonnaces of the terms culture/ dirt/ earth.
Drawing on her early experience in permaculture, her approach is shaped both by rural experience and by artisanal techniques
of production and subsistence. Her work is structured by ecological stakes played out in materials, their nature, provenance,
transformation and assembly methods, as well as in the relationships between functional, decorative, sculptural and constructive forms. In this way, she questions the possibilities of production, display, use and arrangement.
